In 2014, Iredell County voters approved $131 million in funding for Iredell-Statesville and Mooresville Graded Schools as well as Mitchell Community College. Here’s a look at how those projects have fared.


Iredell-Statesville Schools Projects

Cool Spring Elementary – Extensive school renovations, including new classroom building and gymnasium.
– Completed Summer 2016 on time
– Under budget

NIHS Performing Arts Center

North Iredell High School – Project included new classroom space and performing arts auditorium.
– Completed Spring 2018
– Under budget

South Iredell High School – Project included new classroom space and performing arts auditorium.
– Completed Spring of 2018
– Under Budget

Third Creek Middle School – Construction of new middle school for students currently at Statesville Middle at the campus of Third Creek Elementary; allows for relocation of Northview IB Middle to Statesville Middle campus.
– Scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2020
– Projected on time and on budget

Woodland Heights Middle – Construction of new middle school for students currently at Brawley Middle at the campus of Woodland Heights Elementary; allows for relocation of Mt. Mourne IB Middle to Brawley Middle campus.
– Scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2020
– Projected on time and on budget

Mooresville Graded School District Project

Mooresville High School – Addition of classroom space, replacement of unsafe gymnasium, construction of new auditorium.
– Construction reached substantial completion in December 2018. 
– Project came in under budget for the entire project. 

Mitchell Community College Project

Health Sciences Building – Construction of 40,000 square foot classroom building with advanced simulation laboratories for training nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals.
– Construction on schedule with completion in December 2019
– Currently the project is under budget.
